Habits of Success

Most days, most lessons, we want students to do something different: try harder, use a different technique, do their homework, stop shouting out. We try to make this happen by motivating students and helping them to self-regulate – but when we run out of energy and enthusiasm, we tend to turn to reward and punishment. Habits of Success applies behavioural science to look at how we can motivate and inspire students, make change easier, and help students form habits of success.

There are currently three half-hour webinars covering elements of habits of success:

1) Introduction and overview: why habits of success?

2) Motivation and inspiration: what makes students want to learn?

3) Committing to change: what helps students stick to their good intentions?

Each webinar also comes with recommended reading, and suggested professional development activities.
