November 2022
New video webinar and upcoming live webinar
New webinar: checking understanding. I’ve added a new webinar to the Responsive Teaching course, on checking understanding. This looks at why it’s hard to know what students have understood, poor proxies for understanding, and what happens if we don’t check our impact. Then it looks at ways to learn more, focusing on exit tickets, and offers practical advice on how to use them. Like all the sessions, the webinar comes with suggested reading, activities, and an implementation checklist. Subscribers can access this webinar here.
Live webinar: ask me anything: Wednesday, 9th November, 4.00-5.00, subscribers only, register here using your school email address.
Another live webinar, exclusively for subscribing schools. Come with questions about responsive teaching, habits of success, professional development, or whatever else is on your mind.
September 2022
Subscribers webinar: Ask Me Anything about leading professional development
Tuesday, 20th September, 4.30-5.30, register here.
I’ve been thrilled how many schools have signed up to use Responsive Teaching/Habits of Success resources. As a thank you, I’m planning to run regular free webinars, exclusively for subscribing schools.
The first webinar will be on Tuesday, 20th September, 4.30-5.30.
This first one is designed for leaders of professional development. You can interpret that loosely: feel free to attend/invite colleagues if you/they have a role in designing/leading professional development or coaching in school. I’m imagining no more than 3 attendees from each school – if it needs to be more, please let me know.
This will be an Ask Me Anything: I won’t come with an agenda, I’ll come to answer your questions and discuss whatever you want to discuss. This could include:
– How you’re using the resources to develop your staff’s use of responsive teaching/improving student habits
– Any of the ideas in Responsive Teaching or Habits of Success
– Anything about your professional development programme plans/reality
– Anything else that’s on your mind and where I (and other attendees) may be able to help.
Assuming this works well, I hope to offer similar sessions aimed at early career teachers, middle leaders and classroom teachers later this term.
You/your colleagues can sign up here. This is exclusively for schools which have subscribed to the resource pack, so please use your school email address.
Any questions, please let me know.
